6 tips to stop feeling bloated?
1. Eating processed foods
Often it is the high salt and sugar consumption in the processed food that will bloat you up. Try replacing processed foods for natural home cooked meals where you are in control of the ingredients.
2. Are you allergic or sensitive to certain foods
I found when trying to lose body fat that I was allergic to dairy products. Do you find that certain foods will make you bloated. Rice is a common one, you may need to replace traditional white rice for gluten free rice.
If you think certain foods make you bloated, try removing them for 1-2 weeks and see if you reduce your bloated symptoms.
3. Eating too fast
I fall into the trap of eating too quick when I am full.
4. Lactose intolerant
Dairy can be the cause to why you are gassy or bloated. If you feel that you get gassy after having cup of coffee or tea you may be lactose intolerant. This could be with any of the dairy products you are having.
5. Fizzy drinks
Remove fizzy drink can help bloated symptoms. If you find that you have more than 2 fizzy drinks daily look to cut down. This can also impact on the amount of sugar you intake on a daily basis.
6. Chewing gum
While chewing is helpful for you to curb you hunger levels it also can created a bloated feeling.
Tips to help with symptoms
1. Stay hydrated
Consume a minimum of 2 litres a day. If you are very active look to increase your water intake.
2. Digestive emzymes
If you are having gastric problems, you should look to improve your nutrition first then include digestive enzymes to help with digestion.
3. Probiotics
Probiotics are healthy bacteria the body needs to help with absorption of nutrients.
4. Chew slowly
Chewing is the first part of the digestion process. So if you help break down the food it will be easier to digest.
5. Portion size
Along with chewing slowly, having the right portion size is important control overall food consumption.
