What is the best workout?

What is the best workout?

Firstly why I write these type of blogs is to give you a clearer idea of having an open mind when you approach fitness. Now when you see someone with a great physique or see someone getting great results, I bet you ask, what do they do!....I admit, I do too!

So this blog can help you to be focused on you and your own goals.

Is there a specific exercise I must do to increase lean muscle?

No, while some exercises are more effective for greater response on the body. There are no good or bad exercises, however t you must ensure the exercise you perform is done safely and effectively for results. One example you may change your exercise is due to your limb length.

What do you mean by limb length?

Limb length is essentially how short or long our arms, legs and torso are in relation to an specific exercise.

A simple example is the deadlift, someone that is tall may need to adjust their stance due to distance away from the bar. So essentially the limb length is the factor

So what you I do?

Firstly if you are focused on achieving the best possible result, I would recommend a body assessment. This will help you understand more about factors such as posture, mobility and flexibility. This can also undress some problem areas such as injuries or pains.

This assessment can the give you more understanding of body awareness, to relate to exercise considerations.

What should the best workout have?

If you are focused on improving overall health and body movement. I recommend doing the BIG 6! All exercises should be specific to the assessment.

What is the big 6?

-Push (push ups)

-Pull (Rows)

-Squat (Lunges)

-Hinge (Deadlift)

-Rotation (Cable twists)

-Loaded (Overhead walk carries)

You will be hitting every muscle through these 6 movements.

So now you have an idea of putting together a workout, you need to know what is the foundations behind achieving the results...

-Enjoyable

Nobody follows something they do not enjoy, so keep finding what will make it enjoyable. (Yes, there will be exercises you don't enjoy but get great results)

-Adaptable

Change when necessary to find an exercise that will be more optimal for better results. Also adaptable for when you travel and you have not got certain equipments.

-Sustainable

Key behind a good programme is sustainability. Find a plan that can keep you seeing progress. Always change a programme every 4-6 weeks. It does not have to be everything, just changing some exercises.

Finally to understand how people see achieve great results, they will have all these traits in common:

Inspired

Patience

Perseverance

Consistency

I have experienced this when I did my body transformation, however, we must not forget the times of frustration, or where you want to give up! These are human traits which we compare ourselves to others. So once you realise this will be part of your journey you will be able to accept and more importantly learn about yourself.
